Floral origami came about because I wanted flowers that would never wilt. I never liked it when I would get cut flowers that looked great for a few days and then they would wilt. I wanted something that would remain colorful and that wouldn’t wilt.
And also, I wanted flowers that would be safe for my cats. I had a terrifying experience of my cats almost ingesting some star lilies. Star lilies are extremely poisonous to cats. They look gorgeous though. So I looked into alternatives and decided upon floral origami as the solution.
I am very happy with this solution. For one, you can fold any flower if you know the folds and you can get it in any color and any time of the year. And because it’s made of paper, it’s both hypo-allergenic and biodegradable! A very green alternative to other choices!
Another plus is that I don’t have to worry about my visitors being allergic to any kind of pollen as paper origami flowers don’t have pollen. And if I wanted them to smell nice, all I would have to do is give them a spritz of floral perfume or other scent or even essential flower oils like rose oil.
If you like flowers, but don’t like seeing them wilt all the time, I’d recommend you try decorating with origami flowers.
